Jared Nolan
SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Jared Nolan is Director of Hochalpines Institut Ftan (HIF), an international boarding school in the Swiss Alps where wellbeing, academic excellence, and outdoor challenge go hand in hand. With a background as a detective specialising in serious crime and over a decade of leadership across international schools, Jared brings clarity, empathy, and structure to complex environments.

He is a passionate advocate for early-life wellbeing and student agency. At HIF, he leads an educational model that embeds resilience, self-awareness, and planetary responsibility directly into the curriculum – preparing students not just for university, but for a life of purpose and balance. His conviction: longevity doesn’t begin in adulthood, but in youth – when young people learn to care for themselves, others, and the world around them.

Jared holds a BSc in Psychology, an MA in Educational Leadership, the UK’s NPQH, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education. A certified school inspector and Level 7 Master Coach, he is also a lifelong mountain athlete and environmental advocate, often using high-altitude endurance events to raise awareness for climate and health.
